Working in exactly the same way as the roadside system, Nu-Guard™ 31 can also be used in a median application. This is simply achieved by adding a w-beam guardrail to the back side of the post and changing to a longer post bolt assembly. The narrow profile of this barrier is extremely valuable when space is a premium and installation time is quick when compared to traditional median systems as the posts are driven. Nu-Guard™ 31 (median) has satisfied both TL-3 and TL-4 criteria of NCHRP 350 at traditional post spacing.
