Changing the concept of how traditional w-beam guardrail works, which is the most common system used worldwide, Nu-Guard™ 31 uses a unique ‘U’ shaped steel post which connects directly to the guardrail panel. Nu-Guard™ 31 is higher than traditional systems, during vehicle impact utilises posts both upstream and downstream and the post bolt has the ability to move within the slot on the post. This results in a barrier that works particularly well with both low and high vehicles during NCHRP 350 & MASH crash tests. Nu-Guard™ 31 (roadside) has satisfied both TL-3 and TL-4 criteria of NCHRP 350 at traditional post spacing.
